Instructors

Sensei Mark Williams (4th Dan) is the Chief Instructor of Fulwell Shotokan Karate Club.

Sensei Mark Williams started his Shotokan Karate training under the late Sensei Colin Williams (7th Dan) of the B.K.I. in Chester, where he gained his first and second Dan. He also competed in many national and regional championships. After twenty years or more of training under Sensei Williams he formed his own club, Fulwell Shotokan Karate club, where he teaches the art of Traditional Shotokan Karate in the same way that he was taught by his late instructor.

In February 2005 Sensei Williams passed his examination for 3rd Dan under Sensei Dave Sharkey (7th Dan) of the English Karate Organisation (EKO). In 2008 the Fulwell club became a member of the Cobra Martial Arts Association.

Also in 2008 he was awarded his 4th Dan by the Cobra Martial Arts Association under Sensei Andrew Morrell (6th Dan). This ratification of grade was partly due to time served between his 2nd Dan and 3rd Dan (eleven years).

Sensei Williams' aim is to maintain the traditional values of Shotokan Karate and he is also passionate about teaching the spiritual as well as the physical benefits of this martial art.
